Chrysalis Rail have recently completed a full interior and exterior refurbishment of the first three 333 units in a rolling stock upgrade programme with Northern. These trains are now in service and operating across West Yorkshire.
The Chrysalis Rail team will be conducting the refurbishment works on 16 4-car units. The programme includes new exterior livery and refreshed interiors with newly refurbished seats and new LED lighting.
This refurbishment is part of Northern’s wide-ranging plan to improve all aspects of their network including rolling stock, stations and improved mobile applications.
Chris Steele, Operations Director at Chrysalis Rail commented on the project, “we are delighted to be a part of this class 333 refurbishment programme. We have had very positive feedback from Northern and from the passengers who have utilised the service so far. We look forward to hearing more feedback from the public in the coming weeks when additional refurbished units are released into service”.
Jenny Dempsey, Fleet Refurbishment Project Manager at Northern also commented on the project, “working with Chrysalis on Northern Rail’s 333 refurbishment programme has been a very positive experience.
