In response to our expanding operations and growing business portfolio, Chrysalis Rail are recruiting for a production manager to join the team at Landore Depot, Swansea.
Chrysalis Rail have a number of new projects involving the refurbishment of various DMU/ EMU passenger vehicles and are looking to assemble a small team of artisans.
With a background in engineering, the successful candidate will be self-motivated professional with experience in the rail industry working on traction and rolling stock.
You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered in a safe and timely fashion, working with both the artisans and project managers for successful project delivery. You will have the ability to organise the safe and efficient running of a large workshop, ensuring that all materials are on hand and the relevant personnel in place to meet key production schedules.
Key aspects of the role include:
- – To ensure that all operations are conducted in line with company management systems
- – To ensure that all policies, processes, risk assessments, standard operating procedures and method statements have been briefed out comprehensively to the team and are complied with throughout the project
- – To conduct internal audits, assessing staff competencies, conducting health and safety tours and inspections, inducting new employees and maintaining the site training matrix
- – To support the project manager in customer update meetings.
Initially this will be a contractor position for individuals working as self employed under their own limited company. There may be opportunities to transfer onto PAYE status in the future.
