Chrysalis Rail were one of 25 companies to be selected to visit Irish Rail and their works in Inchicore, Dublin in February.
Organised by the Midlands Engine and the Department of International Trade, the market visit was set up to support UK businesses with building business networks in the Irish market.
Chrysalis Rail were selected to meet representatives from both Irish Rail and Transport Infrastructure Ireland who operate passenger rail services across Ireland.
The visit commenced with an opening address from the British Ambassador to Ireland, Robin Barnett and CEO of Irish Rail, David Franks to welcome the group to Ireland. The visit included a tour of the Irish Rail Inchicore facility and meetings with representatives from both businesses.
Marketing manager at Chrysalis Rail, Rachel Steele commented on the importance of building relationships in international markets, “the UK market is ever changing, so it’s important to keep evolving and developing as a business. We were delighted to be selected as one of the businesses to join the group in Ireland. It was a great opportunity to meet TII and Irish Rail, but also an opportunity to build new relationships and hear more about the other UK companies participating in the mission.
The Department of International Trade have been an integral support to our research into overseas markets and we have generated a number of positive business opportunities as a result. We look forward to seeing what 2018 will bring for Chrysalis.”
